Environment Day
On June 5th, 2024, Bhavan's Varuna Vidyalaya in Thrikkakara bloomed with environmental action in honour of World Environment Day. The theme, "Land Restoration, Desertification, and Drought Resilience," took center stage throughout the day's activities.
The celebration aimed to cultivate awareness on the importance of healthy land, preventing desertification, and managing water scarcity. Dr. Abesh Reghuvaran, a renowned environmentalist and Assistant Professor at CUSAT, graced the occasion as the chief guest.
Dr. Reghuvaran's speech was a powerful call to action. He highlighted the critical need for conserving natural resources and protecting habitats. Through vivid examples of pollution's impact, he inspired the students to become champions for a cleaner future.
Following the inspiring address, the school transformed into a green haven. Dr. Reghuvaran distributed saplings to teachers and students, which were then planted by him alongside the Principal, Vice Principal, Assistant Vice Principal, student representatives, and staff members. This act of planting symbolised the collective commitment to nurturing the environment for the generations to come.
